Delegation headed by Mr. N.Enkhbold, Member of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, attended the OSCE PA 2014 Autumn meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland from 3 to 5 October of 2014.
The Parliamentary Conference held under the theme of “New Security Challenges: The Role of Parliaments” and, in this framework, the parliamentarians of the participating states focused on various aspects of security in the politico-military dimension, economic and environmental dimension and the human dimension. At the Standing Committee meeting were discussed reports on Activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, including reports on Election Observation Missions and reports of Special Representatives.
The head of Mongolian delegation Mr. N.Enkhbold addressed at the Standing Committee meeting and reconfirmed the invitation to host the next 2015 Autumn meeting of the OSCE PA in Mongolia. He met with Mr. Ilkka Kanerva, President of the OSCE PA, and discussed cooperation issues, including the organizing of the 2015 Autumn meeting. Moreover, he met with Ambassador Theodor Winkler, Director of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and discussed the cooperation issues of DCAF with Mongolia.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe established in 1975 based on main principles of the Helsinki Final Act and became a multilateral cooperation mechanism for security that unified 57 European, American and Asian countries. Mongolia joined this organization in 2012. Some 200 parliamentarians from more than 50 nations gathered in Geneva for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's 13th Autumn Meeting.
