EnglishSenior Advisor to the Chairman of the State Great Hural, Mr. S.Lambaa met with consultant of the World Bank (WB), Mr. Nasir Amin Whaind. Mr. Nasir Amin Whaind provided information with regards to the evaluation of pension reform that is being developed by a working group at the Ministry of Population Development and Social Welfare. Mr. Nasir Amin Whaind highlighted the challenges facing the reform and put forward suggestions.
In response, the Senior Advisor noted that there is overwhelming necessity to change the current legislation and policy on pension system. He agreed with the outcome of the evaluation and expressed the need for submitting the draft to the State Great Hural in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice. Once the draft documents were submitted relevant standing committees will form working groups and organize comprehensive seminars and discussions with broader participation with support from the WB. Present at this meeting were also the working group members and officials of the General Office of Social Insurance.
