Ms. D.Unurbolor MP, has represented Mongolian parliament at an IPU online conference

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Committee of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) decided to hold the 142nd IPU Assembly with online format between 24-27 May 2021. 

The general theme of the 142nd IPU Assembly will be "Overcoming the pandemic today and building a better tomorrow: the role of parliaments". 

As part of the preparations and starting from the 26th of this month, a series of online conferences will be organized by IPU bodies including the Standing Committees, the Working Groups, the Women Parliamentarians’ and of Young Parliamentarians Forums.

Ms. B.Saranchimeg MP, has participated yesterday at the first of the online meetings organized by the IPU Standing Committee on Peace and International Security and Ms. D.Unurbolor MP, has participated today /2021.04.27/ in the joint session of the IPU Standing Committees on Sustainable Development and UN Affairs.   

Ms. D.Unurbolor MP, presented a speech under the topic of “Vaccine accessibility as a public good” during the debate session. In her speech, she stated that Mongolia has received vaccines via WHO and COVAX programs and managed to inoculate over 30% of its target population. She also extended gratitude to donor countries and international organizations. Ms. D.Unurbolor MP, urged legislators “let’s all work together for better certainty” and emphasized that the parliamentarians need to collaborating to overcome the current global challenge and the pandemic. She has, moreover, mentioned that Mongolia will be hosting the next Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum on Global Health and hoping the regional event will provide an opportunity to generate discussions on international efforts to overcome global challenges and difficulties and further strengthen multilateral cooperation.  The next series of the conferences will continue today at 20:00 Ulaanbaatar time which will be moderated from the IPU headquarter in Geneva, Switzerland.
