Speaker of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Mr. Enkhbold Zandaakhuu receives members of the Congress

        Speaker of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, Mr. Enkhbold Zandaakhuu held a meeting with members of the United States House of Representatives, Mr. Steve Chabot, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, and Mr. Stephen F. Lynch, senior member of Subcommittee on National Security on 16 May 2014 at the State Palace. Ms. Batchimeg, MP and Vice Chair of the Mongolia-US Parliamentary Group, Mr. Ts.Tsolmon, MP, and Ms. Piper Anne Wind Campbell, the US Ambassador to Mongolia, were present at the meeting.

         During the meeting, Congressman Steve Chabot noted the fact that despite its population size, Mongolia have successfully sent its peace-keepers to South Sudan, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Appraising its contributions, Congressman Steve Chabot referred Mongolia as one of the role models of democracy. Mr. Z.Enkhbold thanked for the appraisal and expressed interest to further develop ties in appropriate sectors.

      Mongolia and United States established diplomatic relations on 27 January 1987. Today the relationship between the two countries continues to grow and strengthen. The leaders of the two countries declared in 2004 “a new era of cooperation and comprehensive partnership between their two democratic countries based on shared values and common strategic interests”.
