The State Great Hural was established by the first parliamentary election of Mongolia and started operating from July 29, 1992.

As a result of this election, 70 persons from the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party won, 4 from “Democratic Union” coalition of Mongolian Democratic Party, Mongolian National Progressive Party, and Green Party, 1 from Mongolian Social Democratic Party and 1 independent candidate have been elected as the member. Within the framework of the authority to legislate and comply the legislation, regulations and international treaties of Mongolia with the new Constitution, the State Great Hural adopted 137 laws, amended 142 laws and annulled 46 laws. Moreover, it ratified 40 international treaties and conventions.
