At the invitation of the Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, D. Amarbayasgalan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, U Won-shik, is making an official visit to Mongolia from April 26 to 30, 2025.
As part of the visit, the two sides held an official meeting today (April 28, 2025), after which the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, U Won-shik, and members of the National Assembly toured the “Ikh Khuruldai” hall of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia.
Member of the State Great Hural (Parliament) J. Chinbüren highlighted that, in accordance with the decree of the President of Mongolia, the portrait of the Great Khan Chinggis Khaan, along with his wisdom and teachings, was prominently placed in the “Ikh Khuruldai” hall of the State Great Hural (Parliament).
The Secretary General of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, B. Baasandorj, noted that since the adoption of Mongolia's democratic new Constitution, eight parliaments have convened in the “Ikh Khuruldai” hall, with 76 members each, from 1992 to 2024. He highlighted that, following the 2024 parliamentary elections, a new parliament was formed with 126 members, representing five political parties. This parliament is notably diverse, with members from various social groups, including two representatives of people with disabilities.
He also mentioned that a special podium had been set up to promote human rights and create equal opportunities, as reported by the Press Office of the State Great Hural (Parliament).
