Member of Parliament B. Batbaatar held a meeting with Andreas Riecken, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Mongolia.
During the meeting, MP B. Batbaatar noted that, following the 2024 elections, the Mongolia-Austria Parliamentary Group was formed, with MP N. Batsumberel serving as its head and himself as deputy head. He highlighted the strong and productive cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments and reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to further expanding bilateral relations and supporting joint projects through parliamentary engagement. He expressed confidence that Ambassador Rieken would play a key role in strengthening ties between Mongolia and Austria.
Ambassador Andreas Riecken explained that Austria’s government has not yet been fully formed, which has delayed the establishment of the Austria-Mongolia Parliamentary Group. However, he assured that once the political situation stabilizes, efforts will be made to formalize the parliamentary group and accelerate bilateral cooperation.
He emphasized that Austria and Mongolia have significant potential for collaboration in forestry, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure. He also reiterated his commitment to regularly visiting Mongolia and working actively to strengthen and expand bilateral relations.
MP Sh. Byambasuren, a member of the Mongolia-Austria Parliamentary Group, was also present at the meeting.
