MP B. Munkhsoyol participates in the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development

The 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) took place in Bangkok from February 25 to 28 under the theme “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind.” Representing Mongolia at the forum were MP B. Munkhsoyol, Chair of the Subcommittee on the Sustainable Development Goals, along with Ambassador A. Tumur, Mongolia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Secretary of the National Committee on Gender Equality T. Enkhbayar, and other officials.

As part of the forum, a side event on “National Voluntary Review: Civil Society Engagement in Gender Equality” was organized at UNESCAP headquarters, where MP B. Munkhsoyol moderated the discussion and Secretary of the National Committee on Gender Equality T. Enkhbayar delivered the keynote presentation.

Additionally, the forum hosted the official regional premiere of the documentary film "Echoes Between Land & Blue Sky: The Lives of Mongolian Deaf Nomads," produced by the Cultural Center for the Deaf NGO, accompanied by a photography exhibition.

The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development served as a platform for countries in the region—particularly least developed countries, landlocked developing nations, and small island developing states—to assess regional trends, share best practices, and exchange lessons learned in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The forum also aimed to enhance knowledge, build capacity, and provide support for countries on their sustainable development journey.

During the forum, a follow-up discussion on civil society engagement in gender equality was held at UNESCAP headquarters, where Secretary T. Enkhbayar represented Mongolia as a speaker, while MP B. Munkhsoyol moderated the session and delivered the closing remarks.
