Chairman of the State Great Hural D. Amarbayasgalan meets with residents of Chinggis City, Khentii Province, to present parliamentary policies and activities

Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia D. Amarbayasgalan, along with MP and Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy L. Enkhnasan, MP Ts. Iderbat, MP M. Mandkhai, MP Sh. Byambasuren, and MP U. Otgonbayar, visited Chinggis City, the capital of Khentii Province, on March 10, 2025.

At the outset of the meeting, Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan introduced the policies implemented by the Parliament and the legislative agenda for the ongoing spring session. He emphasized that the Parliament, comprising 126 members representing five political parties and coalitions, had taken significant steps during its inaugural autumn session to initiate four major projects aimed at economic growth. These projects, which had been stalled for 30 years, are now progressing within the newly established legal framework.

The Chairman underscored that the current Parliament is committed to creating a comprehensive and well-regulated legal environment. He noted that while 30% of social relations are currently governed by laws, over 70% remain subject to administrative regulations. To address this, the Parliament aims to shift from an institution-centered approach to a people-centered one by streamlining and reviewing more than 3,000 regulations throughout the spring and autumn sessions.

Furthermore, in line with the regional development policy, the Chairman highlighted the potential for Khentii Province to become a key hub for tourism and emphasized the importance of developing the local agricultural sector. This includes plans to establish meat processing plants suited to the region's unique characteristics. He reiterated the Parliament’s commitment to incorporating public feedback into the legislative process during the spring session.

During his visit, Chairman D. Amarbayasgalan also held discussions with high school students in Chinggis City. The students expressed their appreciation for the extension of the expanded format of university entrance exams until 2028, which provides them with additional time to strengthen their foundational knowledge and prepare for the exams.

Additionally, the students raised concerns regarding classroom and dormitory capacity, the availability of textbooks, the conditions of school sanitation facilities, the shortage of specialized teachers, and the need for improved internet speed. High school students from five schools in Chinggis City participated in the meeting, according to the Press Office of the State Great Hural.
