Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh. Bulgantuya Meets UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Lin Cao

Deputy Chairwoman of the State Great Hural Kh. Bulgantuya met with Lin Cao, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mongolia, today.

Deputy Chairwoman Kh. Bulgantuya expressed her gratitude for the ongoing collaboration with the UNDP Mongolia Office. She highlighted the importance of the UNDP’s 2023-2027 Country Programme Document for Mongolia, emphasizing its significant role in advancing the country’s sustainable development.

She noted the State Great Hural’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as evidenced by successful dialogues on transboundary sustainability held in collaboration with Stanford University and the Ban Ki-moon Foundation in 2023 and 2024. These initiatives have supported gender equality, women’s empowerment, peace, justice, and institutional strength. A key achievement was increasing the candidate quota for women in elections from 20% to 30%.

This year, under the patronage of the President of Mongolia, a major dialogue on “Climate Change: Billion Trees” is planned, which will bring together policymakers, experts, researchers, and practitioners from Asia and the Altai region.

The dialogue will emphasize the importance of regional partnerships to address shared environmental challenges, leveraging global lessons and best practices to foster collaboration in the Asia-Altai region. Key topics will include green financing, technical cooperation, and diplomatic relations.

Deputy Chairwoman Kh. Bulgantuya extended an invitation to the UNDP to participate as a sponsor for this dialogue.
