Constitution Promotion Event Held to Celebrate 33rd Anniversary

On the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of Mongolia's democratic Constitution, the Secretariat of the State Great Hural (Parliament) organized a Constitution promotion event, where representatives of the public read the full text of the Constitution for widespread dissemination.

On January 13, 1992, Mongolia adopted its democratic Constitution, solidifying its sovereignty, independence, and the goal of building a humane and democratic society. To mark this historic occasion, the Secretariat initiated this event as part of efforts to promote awareness and understanding of the Constitution among citizens.

The event was organized in line with Resolution No. 43 of the State Great Hural (2024), which calls for promoting the principles of the Constitution, including national sovereignty, human rights, and freedoms. For the first time, the full text of the Constitution—comprising the Preamble, six chapters, and 70 provisions—was publicly read by 28 citizens, with each participant taking a chapter or set of provisions. The event also encouraged every citizen to study the Constitution and urged every household to embrace and uphold its principles.

The Constitution reflects Mongolia's dedication to strengthening its independence, protecting human rights and freedoms, ensuring justice, and upholding national unity. It honors the traditions of statehood, history, and culture while respecting the achievements of human civilization. As part of this broader goal, the Secretariat announced that the annual public reading of the Constitution will become a tradition, to be held in the State Ceremonial Ger within the Government Palace every year.

This initiative aims to deepen public understanding of the Constitution’s vision and reinforce its role as the foundation of Mongolia's democratic and humane society.
