Chair of the State Great Hural’s Standing Committee on Justice, D. Tsogtbaatar, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia, Choi Jin-won.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chair D. Tsogtbaatar expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Choi for accepting the invitation to meet. He highlighted the committee’s desire to strengthen cooperation with the Legal and Judicial Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He requested the ambassador’s support in facilitating this collaboration to ensure long-term, effective outcomes.
Chair Tsogtbaatar noted the cultural, traditional, and structural similarities between the two countries. He emphasized that Mongolia could benefit greatly from Korea’s extensive experience in consolidating its democratic system. “We are particularly interested in studying and implementing Korea’s achievements in creating a favorable legal and business environment for foreign investment. We hope to enhance collaboration at the committee level to facilitate these exchanges,” he said. Additionally, Chair Tsogtbaatar expressed interest in learning from Korea’s methods for strengthening judicial independence and incorporating them into Mongolia’s system.
Ambassador Choi Jin-won thanked the Chair for the meeting and affirmed his commitment to conveying Mongolia’s proposal to deepen legislative cooperation to relevant entities in Korea. He expressed readiness to work together in advancing bilateral relations.
The two parties exchanged views on developing bilateral ties, particularly between legislative bodies and standing committees, to foster collaboration and mutual understanding.
