Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) D. Amarbayasgalan met with Kenji Okamura, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Amarbayasgalan highlighted the constitutional changes made in 2023, which increased Mongolia’s parliament to 126 members, ensuring representation from five parties and coalitions, thus strengthening the country’s democratic governance.
He emphasized that the Hural is working on legislative reforms to support human rights, promote foreign investment, create a favorable legal environment, and accelerate major national projects.
Kenji Okamura expressed his appreciation for Mongolia’s efforts to reinforce democracy by including diverse voices from various sectors within the Hural. He reiterated the strong partnership between Mongolia and the IMF and stated that the IMF is ready to support Mongolia in maintaining stable economic growth.
Both sides exchanged views on Mongolia’s economic recovery and the country’s progress toward sustainable growth.
