Chairman of the State Great Hural D. Amarbayasgalan Holds Extended Meeting with The Hon. Susan Lines, President of the Australian Senate

H.E. Mr. D. Amarbayasgalan, Chairman of the State Great Hural, held an extended meeting at the State Palace with The Hon. Susan Lines, President of the Australian Senate, who is currently on an official visit to Mongolia.


During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Australia, underscoring the shared democratic values that form the foundation of this partnership.

Chairman Amarbayasgalan expressed confidence that President Lines’ visit would significantly enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation and advance Mongolia’s “Third Neighbor” policy by deepening ties with Australia. Both leaders noted the recent expansion in people-to-people exchanges and highlighted the ongoing discussions to establish a Social Protection Agreement and an Air Services Agreement between the two nations, recognizing the importance of these agreements for bilateral relations.



The Hon. Susan Lines emphasized that Australia’s relationship with Mongolia is rooted in democratic values, including human rights, freedom, the rule of law, and gender equality. She noted that these values have supported the growth of bilateral relations across various social and economic sectors. As an advocate for educational collaboration, she also conveyed her strong support for enhancing educational exchanges between the two countries. President Lines reiterated Australia’s commitment to supporting Mongolia’s initiatives in professional, citizen-centered public service, and projects aimed at empowering gender equality and strengthening civil society.




The meeting was described as productive, open, and friendly. Both sides agreed that this visit marks a valuable step toward bolstering mutual trust, strengthening legislative ties, and elevating the overall level of bilateral relations and cooperation.
