On October 28, 2024, H.E. Mr. B. Baasandorj, Secretary-General of the State Great Hural, along with Deputy Secretary-General E. Lkhagva, Head of the Internal Control Division B. Togstsetsengel, and other relevant officials, held a meeting with representatives of media outlets that cover the activities of the State Great Hural.
During the meeting, Secretary-General B. Baasandorj emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual understanding among the public, parliament, and journalists for the development of a classical parliamentary system. He stated that, in line with the principle of making parliamentary activities more open and transparent, the State Great Hural Secretariat is in the process of developing revisions to the regulations governing the coverage and reporting of parliamentary activities, special entry regulations for the State Palace, and operational procedures to facilitate better engagement with the media. This meeting was organized to introduce these proposed regulations to the media representatives and gather their feedback. Secretary-General Baasandorj also mentioned that, upon request from journalists, the State Great Hural Secretariat will regularly hold briefings on the laws under discussion in parliament, aiming for fruitful collaboration moving forward.
Following presentations by B. Togstsetsengel, Head of the Internal Control Division, G. Burenjargal, Senior Referent of the Media Office, and G. Kherlen, Senior Referent of the Citizens and Public Relations Office, media representatives expressed their opinions on the proposed regulations. At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Secretary-General E. Lkhagva assured attendees that their suggestions regarding the regulations would be conveyed to the relevant officials and that the Secretariat is committed to working collaboratively with the media.
