G.Zandanshatar, the Chairman of the State Great Hural, assigned Members of the State Great Hural to work in their respective constituencies to present to the local citizens and voters the draft constitutional amendments submitted by the Government of Mongolia.

Citizens of Bulgan Province expressed their opinions on the draft amendments

J.Bat-Erdene, a Member of the State Great Hural, worked in Bayannuur, Bureghangai, Hishig-Undur and Mogod soums of Bulgan province, and gave a detailed presentation on the draft constitutional amendments to the local citizens and voters, who in turn expressed their views on the proposed amendments.

Ts.Davaasuren, a Member of the State Great Hural, worked in Tarialan soum, Huvsgul province and presented the draft amendments to the locals and held a meeting to listen to their opinions. He will continue working in Erdenebulgan, Ih-Uul and Murun soums, and Hatgal village in Huvsgul province.

G.Temuulen, a Member of the State Great Hural, worked in Arhangai province and introduced the draft amendments to the citizens at meeting where he also updated them with the current social and economic situation of the country. Some of the citizens who participated in the meeting expressed their support for the regulation increasing the number of the State Great Hural Members.

J.Erdenebat, a Member of the State Great Hural, worked in Tunhel, Herh and Bugant villages as well as Yuruu, Huder, and Javhlant soums of Selenge province and presented detailed information on the draft amendments. He also explained that the ratification of the amendments will increase the representative rights of Mongolian citizens and reduce the concentration of power in a single parliament member. The local citizens who participated in the meeting expressed their views on the draft amendments and put forward specific suggestions.

B.Delgersaikhan in Dornogovi province

B.Delgersaikhan, a Member of the State Great Hural, held a meeting with 132 local citizens of Airag soum of Dornogovi province. About 70 percent of the citizens expressed their support for the draft amendments. Moreover, more than 100 local citizens participated in the meeting that was held in Altanshiree soum, and 90 percent of them were in favor of the amendments. In addition, Mr.Delgersaikhan worked in Dalanjargalan, Delgereh, Ikhet, Mandah, Saihandulaan, Huvsgul, and Hatanbulag soums. He will continue his work trip in Ulaanbadrah, Erdene and Ergan soums of Dornogovi province.

Draft constitutional amendments were presented to the citizens of several districts of Ulaanbaatar

In compliance with the Decree No.85, the Members of the State Great Hural elected from Ulaanbaatar worked in their respective constituencies to meet with the local citizens. The citizens were in general agreement that it was time to make amendments to the Constitution in consideration of the current social, political and economic situation of the country.

The Members of the State Great Hural were assigned to work in their constituencies for 7 days, inform the citizens and voters about the draft constitutional amendments, listen to their views, and collect relevant suggestions. A report will be compiled and submitted to the Standing Committee on State Structure before 17 May. The Committee will submit the report to the Working Group on constitutional amendments for the 2nd and 3rd hearings before 18 May, 2023.
