The second part of the virtual Governing Council meeting of the 142nd Assembly of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) took place today (May 25, 2021).
Mrs. B. Saranchimeg, a member of the State Great Hural and a member of Bureau of the IPU Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights and Mr. Ts. Munkh-Orgil, a member of the State Great Hural, have represented the Parliament of Mongolia at this 207th Governing Council meeting which was attended by more than 220 delegates.
At the meeting, the results of the elections to fill the vacancies of the IPU Committee on Human Rights of Parliamentarians and the Committee on Middle East issues were officially presented. The Governing Council was also briefed on the 2020 financial report and the IPU membership issues.
The plenary of the IPU’s 142nd Assembly will be held virtually in between the 26-27 May 2021 under the theme of "Overcoming the pandemic today and building a better tomorrow: the role of parliaments".
