Weekly review for January 4-8, 2021

On January 5, 2021, the first discussion to the amendments of the draft laws on National Naadam, Physical Culture and Sports, as well as the draft resolution of the State Great Hural on “Appointment of a member of the National Council of Mongolian National Public Radio and Television” were discussed at the Standing Committee on State Structures.

On January 5, 2021, the first discussion of the revised bill of the Law on Courts of Mongolia was discussed at the Standing Committee meeting on Legal Affairs. The purpose of the law is to ensure the judicial system of Mongolia, requisitions and requirements for judges, also to regulate powers of the General Council of Courts and Judicial Disciplinary Committee, their legal status, judicial independence and their improper influence from the other branches of government or from private or partisan interests. The revised version consists of 16 chapters and 114 articles.

At the Standing Committee on Social Policy the first discussion of the revised bill of the Law on Labor and draft laws submitted together were began to discuss on January 6, 2021. The revised version was agreed to discuss at the State Great Hural plenary session meeting held on April 13, 2018.

At the plenary session meeting of the State Great Hural held on January 7, D.Oyun-Erdene was appointed as a member of the National Council of Mongolian National Public Radio and Television by majority of votes. Also, the first hearing of the revised bill of the Law on Courts of Mongolia was began to discuss.

On January 7, 2021, Speaker of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar received Mongolbank (Central Bank of Mongolia) Governor B.Lkhagvasuren and T.Munkhbayar, CEO of Erdenes Silver Resource, a subsidiary of the state-owned Erdenes Mongol LLC to get acquainted with implementation of the Law on One-Time Repayment of Pension-Secured Loans.

At the plenary session meeting of the State Great Hural held on January 8, Deputy Prime Minister Ya.Sodbaatar introduced a report on the quality and accessibility of the virtual training of educational institutions at all levels.

On January 8, 2021, Minister of Health T.Munkhsaikhan presented draft laws on Amendments to the Law on Health, Amendments to the Law on Health Insurance, Amendments to the General Administrative Law, Law on Regulation of Money Lending and other related draft laws to G.Zandanshatar, Speaker of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia.

 

At the afternoon plenary session meeting of the State Great Hural held on January 8, the first hearing of the revised bill of the Law on Courts of Mongolia was discussed and transferred to the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs for final hearing.

On January 8, 2021, members of the State Great Hural (Parliament) G.Damdinnyam, G.Amartuvshin and Kh.Gankhuyag submitted a draft resolution to support entrepreneurship and to save jobs regarding the COVID-19 Mitigation Law to G.Zandanshatar, Speaker of the Parliament of Mongolia.
