December 21, 2021. Chairman of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar held a meeting with Sergey Diorditsa, WHO Resident Representative in Mongolia, to discuss the current situation, potential risks, and future issues of the coronavirus epidemic.


December 21, 2021. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the restoration of national freedom and independence, “The Value of Independence” an article writing and podcast hosting contest were successfully organized and the Chairman of the State Great Hural G.Zandanshatar handed over the prizes to the winners of the competition.


December 22, 2021. A discussion on “Reforms and challenges of involuntary treatment of alcoholics and drug addicts” was held upon initiation of MP J.Chinburen.


December 22, 2021. Minister of Justice and Home Affairs MP Kh.Nyambaatar submitted a draft resolution of the State Great Hural on “Ensuring the benefits of Mongolia from the Oyu Tolgoi mine” to Chairman of the State Great Hural G.Zandanshatar.

According to draft, the following measures were reflected:

- To cancel the 2.3 billion USD debt of the Oyu Tolgoi project, which is 34 percent owned by the Government of Mongolia;

- To terminate the Oyu Tolgoi underground mine development and financing plan, as well as the Oyu Tolgoi underground mine development and additional funding plan each dated from May 18, 2015;

- To conduct an independent audit into the Oyu Tolgoi underground mine development project financing;

- The costs required until the first half of 2023, when the underground mine is commissioned, shall be covered by the investors, not incurring additional debts to Erdenes Oyu Tolgoi LLC;

- To supply electricity for Oyu Tolgoi project from the energy grid of Mongolia;

- To ensure the implementation of tax acts.


December 22, 2021. Chairman of the State Great Hural G.Zandanshatar received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Mongolia Sebastien Surun to discuss the current state of relations and cooperation between the two countries.


December 22, 2021. The Secretariat of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are organizing a series of joint discussions entitled “Developing Like Japan” to learn from Japan's development models and experiences and to adopt good practices. The latter discussion was organized under the theme "Economic planning and development policy, public investment plan".


December 22, 2021. Chairman of the State Great Hural G.Zandanshatar received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Mongolia Dr. Borbala Anna Obrusanszky. Parties exchanged viewes on broadening bilateral relations, particularly in Mongol studies, arts, culture and humanitarian spheres.


December 22, 2021. The launch of the “Parliamentary Education” program was held in the State Ger Palace that aims to provide a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the role of parliament in a democratic system and to explain to children, youth and the public the importance of being representative, transparent and effective in carrying out its core functions.


December 22, 2021. At the morning plenary session, the draft law on ratification of the loan agreement between Mongolia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Ulaanbaatar Sustainable Roads and Transportation Project) was discussed and approved.


December 22, 2021. At the afternoon plenary session, the draft law on ratification of the draft agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on the establishment of the Mongolia-China Zamyn-Uud Erlian Economic Cooperation Zone was discussed and approved.
