Mr. B.Purevdorj, a member of the State Great Hural and Chair of Mongolia-Italy Parliamentary Group in the State Great Hural had an online meeting with Mr. Alessandro Pagano, a member of the Italian Parliament and Chairperson of Italy-Mongolia Parliamentary Group on April 26, 2021.

The meeting was attended by Ms. A.Adiyasuren and Mr. Ts.Sandag-Ochir, members of the State Great Hural and members of the parliamentary group, Mr. Ts.Jambaldorj, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Italy and members of the Italy-Mongolia Parliamentary Group in the Italian Parliament along with other officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. B.Purevdorj MP expressed his pleasure meeting with his Italian counterparty along with the members of friendship group in the Italian Parliament. While expressing gratitude to Italy as a member of the European Union and its active participation and investment to the COVAX program, Mr. B.Purevdorj briefed about the implementation of Mongolian Government’s 10 trillion MNT program to protect the health of its citizens and to support the economy. He also emphasized that active inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation are the main basis for strengthening and developing economic and social cooperation between Mongolia and Italy.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on increasing trade turnover between Mongolia and Italy, developing science and technology-based health cooperation, and exchanging experiences on issues of mutual interest. Both sides underlined the importance of cooperation between the parliaments, including bilateral friendship groups, and expressed readiness to work more closely in the future to intensify inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation, and to use the potential of trade and economic cooperation to achieve tangible results.

The 14 member Mongolia-Italy parliamentary group of the State Great Hural was re-established as a result of last year's election and Mr.B.Purevdorj MP, has been elected as the group's chairing person. The Italy-Mongolia parliamentary group in the Italian parliament currently has 11 members and is chaired by Mr. A.Pagano MP, a member of the House of Representatives.
