MP J.Erdenebat takes an oath as a member of the State Great Hural

2021.03.18. At the morning plenary session of the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia, the first issue ratified was appointing MP J.Munkhbat as the Chair of the Standing Committee on State Structure. The issue was agreed at the relevant Standing Committee meeting held on March 16th by promoting MP J.Munkhbat and during the meeting, it was introduced that it needed to elect a new Chair as preceding Chair L.Enkh-Amgalan was appointed as the Cabinet member and Minister for Education and Science. Consequently, 71.6 percent of the members present at the plenary session voted for MP J.Munkhbat as the Chair of the Standing Committee on State Structure.


The next issue approved was to amend the State Great Hural Resolution No.40 “On setting the by-election date in the 28th constituency of the State Great Hural of Mongolia”. According to amendments, the by-election in the 28th constituency /Songinokhairkhan district of Ulaanbaatar/ is scheduled for October 10, 2021.

After, an issue to recall the incumbent Ambassador of Mongolia to the United States of America was discussed, which was raised by the President of Mongolia, but a majority of parliamentarians voted not to recall Ambassador Yo.Otgonbayar.


The morning session concluded with an oath-taking ceremony. A member of the ruling Mongolian People's Party, J.Erdenebat, won a seat in the 2020 parliamentary elections while he was in custody. Nevertheless, the Resolution recognizing the full powers of a member of the State Great Hural was approved.
